If there was an explosion, then something huge exploded, but where did this something come from?

I don't know, the explanation is extremely simple, but very vague – "God has always been." But think about it, if we approach it scientifically, what was there before the explosion? I discussed this topic with a very experienced and respected atheist psychologist:
Me: Well, if God didn't create the Earth, then where did it come from (smiling)?
Her: There was a big bang, from which all the stars and planets appeared by combining particles. I don't know too much about it, though (laughs).
Me (making an interested face): And how did this explosion happen?
Her: Before the explosion, there were other planets and galaxies that ran out of energy and exploded.
Me (in a tone like a child asking questions, like "where do babies come from?"): And how did that universe come about?
Her: Also from a big bang.
Me: And where did that explosion come from?
Her: From another universe.
Me (now seriously): Okay, I understand. But where did all the explosions, all the universes, and all the galaxies come from in the first place? What started it all?
Her (uncertainly): Well... there was a big bang...
