Before the bartender could bring us our drinks, I lightly touched my neck and discovered THE SHARDS WERE MISSING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Without spending much time wondering how this could have happened, or why I hadn't noticed it sooner, I told my companions......
"It's time to get out of here," I said to Sarah and Knight; I looked at the demon, who was still silent, and added, "Well, basically you know what I need, and keep in mind that the army from Mistrad is already approaching, and I'm originally from there, so I have everything under control... if you don't find a shard for me, you'll be left alone with the remnants of your army to defend the city, and I'm not sure anything good will come of that!" I had clearly angered the demon, and he prepared to launch a fireball at my back. I turned around: "Now, none of that! I can throw fireballs left and right myself!" and we left the tavern.... mentally, using the amulet, I contacted Smock and told him about the missing shards.....
