The key word here is, unfortunately, "WAS"... and this is one of the main shortcomings of Heroes 3.
I strongly dislike this attitude towards games: "there must be absolute balance, the game must be winnable with both a battle mage and an old hag." No, in all the good games I've encountered, there WAS an imbalance; otherwise, like in modern Bollywood action movies games, it will be - regardless of your actions, your choices - the game is won. In AAAA!!!1 projects, you just sit in front of the screen and click - you can't lose, you can't fall from a height, invisible walls even prevent you from deviating from the rails. Want to - either take the easy path, if you like the world - indulge have fun like Lytha, don't think - die, die, die!
