"Volkodav": the film and the book.

Three of the stories from the collection didn't appeal to me; in my opinion, the plot has many flaws, and the text follows the pattern of humor-action-philosophy-violence, action-violence-philosophy-humor. I haven't read Volkodav, but both of these books are foundational works of Russian fantasy, and that can excuse many of the shortcomings.
