Well, if it's about ranking, then yes. But still, the nagging thought that they chickened out will linger in some people's minds anyway. Of course, no one can know for sure, but not only those who have no doubts about their skill will be reading this.

And regarding their 100% guaranteed passage from the group – I won't be so categorical. Many strong players didn't make it out of their groups: Oelm, PReDS, =Stinger=, numOne, GOD, Chemist_HP, and Medium_HP (7 players from different groups, out of a total of 16, formed into brackets).

Yes, you could say that the group composition in some of them was like "groups of death," but this tournament will be no less competitive in terms of participants, and even stronger, since not all applicants are accepted.

That's why I consider the "seemingly harmless" suggestion to play out the group to be compromising.
