Gaudin
07.04.2012 twaryna (red, Swamp, Gunnar) def Gaudin (blue, Tower, Solmyr) Speed 1 (l - u) 122

We each took one restart and began.
On the second day, I killed the pink AI - a barbarian; on the third, I captured my native secondary town.
At the barbarian's secondary town, I found a Griffin Conservatory and a Dwarf Cottage, and a mana doubler.
Then a crossroads - either go kill another barbarian AI, on whose respawn a Pandora's Box for 20-49 vampires was visible, or the necromancer AI. I decided to move toward the necromancers, since the necromancers had already broken their guard and were scurrying around outside their territory.
There were four heroes total. Money was tight. I carried gremlins and one mage to Solmyr, who was standing one transition away from the necromancer's castle. Out of the darkness, Vidomina jumped out and attacked the supply run. I killed her vampires with my shooters, and she, also with shooters, wiped out all my gremlins and the mage. I retreated with one gargoyle. The next turn, I killed Vidomina and holed up in the necromancer's castle.
Prospects were far from bright.
In the main town, Nagas are sitting in the Citadel. I only have enough money to buy out three Nagas, and even then I can't deliver them with two heroes. A dilemma stands. Either move Solmyr toward the barbarian AI or search the darkness for the necromancer survivor, who is surely just waiting for Solmyr to leave the castle.
In short, no tempo at all. It was 5 AM, and we had already played 6 hours. I asked my opponent to save and continue the next day. Opponent agreed.
The next day, after reconstructing the current situation in my mind's eye, I decided not to continue and surrendered, sparing my opponent's time and my own, of course.
The outcome of the game was easily predictable.
I must honestly say - I played poorly :(
The layout was very playable. The AI's respawns weren't poor. Lots of mage upgrades.
After the game, I was told that I should have been building the Citadel that I captured on the second day, since Tower is much more expensive to build :)
I didn't think of it myself, alas.

Thanks for the game!!!

Confirmed. The start was poor: a bad respawn generated, the secondary town was blocked by a lot of upgraded lizards + additional blocks on the respawn. No money, no wood, no caches (except for Vaseks behind the energy horde), no Dragon Fly Hives and no Griffin Conservatories. On the bright side: Gunnar came (swiftly gave earth and armor) and a nice ГО - Dark Elves. On day 2, I killed the AI Castle. Then I went toward the AI Rampart. By the end of the week, I arrived at the native AI's respawn, but all their force with Rosic was sitting in the castle:( I decided to stall for a day and took the castle on day 121. After that, I took the maximum tomb, and money-wise things improved. The plan was to level up earth, knock out a few Dwarf Cottages, take my native secondary town, and go beat the ГО. But on day 121, the surrender came. Thanks for the game!
