I'll write a post for the forum users. First, there's no need to see this as some kind of hysteria; let's look at how it started: I initially suggested creating a table, Gaudin agreed, posted it, and things became more or less clear. Well, since he asked for something, it means he wanted to see something, so he started reviewing the sequence of pairings and couldn't figure out what and how.
Next, I wrote a lengthy post with three examples of inconsistencies with the rules of the Swiss system, which officially doesn't allow for such deviations with the awarding of 0.5 points.
Finally, in the last post, I wrote about the drawbacks of such awards and that these significant details need to be mentioned on the forum to avoid misunderstandings, but the esteemed Gaudin, for some reason, doesn't agree with these perfectly reasonable statements.
But... criticizing the system and the organization of the event during the process is "bad manners" and has a destructive effect, as it discourages players, creates confusion, and distracts the organizer from his direct responsibilities.
There's no arguing with that; what can you do? But when the organizer refuses to discuss the essence of the problem via ICQ, I have to bring the discussion to the forum. The goal is to revise the current rules of the Swiss system and, at worst, to ensure that this fact is at least mentioned in the rules information for other tournaments.
I ask the AK member to issue an R55Max warning.
Funny))) In fact, I'm writing here strictly on topic; I'm not discussing any irrelevant information.

Or why did you stir up this mess? There seem to be three standard motivations for this: 1) to achieve justice, 2) to annoy the organizer, 3) to troll.
It's all about justice. I received a refusal to discuss it via ICQ. I'm the kind of person who, for example, when I break the rules in a game, I immediately admit it, ask to put losses or at least a draw, even if the opponents don't ask for it, even if they want me to win. There have been three cases where I made a mistake, but despite playing for a long time, I don't cling to it and put losses on myself. In tournaments, I behave the same way; many can confirm this. There is an inconsistency with the rules, i.e., the tournament is not following what is written. Based on what is written, it is impossible to understand about these 0.5 points. There is no trolling or annoyance. Thanks for the congratulations.
To Gaudin:
You write no less than I do, and there's no need to take phrases out of context, and without the emoticons that accompany them.
Why are you paying so much attention to personal things and less to the essence of the dispute? No one is saying that you are not smart, not educated, not capable, or whatever else. If you don't want to discuss it, that doesn't mean it's good.
I'm not going to answer you nastily; I ask you to write to me exclusively on the topic of discussion - about the Swiss system, or not to write at all. The top part of the post is also for you.
The tournament is going well; there's no need to create unnecessary problems for yourself; nothing terrible has happened. Keep going, and there's no need to give up on anything.
P.S.
I suggest that if you play according to the Swiss system, then play without awarding 0.5 points. If with the award, then be sure to indicate this in the tournament rules!:smile23:
