It runs, but it lags terribly, even if I turn everything down
and set the resolution to 640x480.
I have a suspicion that if I add another 512 MB of RAM, something might change? I just can't play with these lags.

Replace the video card with a more powerful one, and everything will be fine (and reinstall Windows with formatting):smile08:
But in general, I would advise you to replace the entire computer, but this depends on your financial situation, because now you can't buy a decent video card, since your motherboard has an AGP slot, and new, and most importantly, powerful video cards all use PCI... :smile33:
