Not just specialized ones, but even places like Hugo Corner, where several authors clearly write fanfiction that isn't strongly tied to the original plot.
Ashan or the Might and Magic universe isn't just about the main characters from the campaigns; it's about millions of other stories unfolding in parallel with the game's plot.
