I'm sometimes amazed at how brainless a person has to be to add experience, gold, Gogs, butterflies, etc... Do they really think their opponents are idiots? It becomes clear after the first look at the save files...

Or maybe he's a masochist? In the 2nd story about Hodja Nasreddin, there was a Baghdad thief who would experience severe pain if he didn't steal for a long time (I think in his stomach).
