Thanks to an excellent plan and the team's coordinated efforts, destroying the spiders proved to be easy; everything went smoothly – each creature leaving the lair was immediately destroyed. When it was all over, they counted just over a dozen spiders. "Okay, now we need to hurry, right?!" Vincent exclaimed, horrified as a truly enormous spider, ten times larger than the previous ones, crawled out of the lair. "That's the queen!" However, the relentless fire didn't spare her either; killing her would be twice as easy as in a normal situation, but she still posed a threat. As before, Daar was the first to enter the fray. Unlike his smaller offspring, this giant was an easy target, and Daar had no trouble hitting her. Nevertheless, this only enraged her – her counterattack hit a vulnerable spot in his armor. With the next swing of his sword, Daar struck the monster again. Seeing that his comrade was in danger, Vincent slung the arquebus back over his shoulder and drew his rapier, joining the battle at close range, immediately delivering four quick strikes. Redram provided support with crossbow bolts from a distance, while Faelvir cast Clean Water on the wounded. The queen attacked her last tormentor – the man with the rapier – and with two blows, almost killed him. Despite his wounds and poisoning, Daar continued the fight, hacking at the repulsive body of the creature with his heavy two-handed sword. The creature retaliated in kind and struck the elf so hard that it knocked him off his feet. Poisoned, Vincent managed to make only three swings with his weapon. Hostor continued to keep his distance, showering the monster with bolts. Faelvir used Clean Water again to help the elf with the two-handed sword. The spider, in turn, intended to destroy the insolent man with the rapier, and she succeeded, striking him dead with one blow; the second blow, piercing his armor, hit the recovering elf. Putting all his remaining strength into a final strike, Daar plunged his sword into the head of the eight-eyed creature, ending its existence. Vincent. Health: 0 (150).
