Arriving at Deepwell, Alco dismounted and led his horse alongside him.
"What do you think, Janna?" he asked the slave. "Is the tavern the best option we can find in this backwater, or should we look elsewhere?"
"Of course, master," she replied softly.
"I'm glad you agree," Alco chuckled at his own joke. "In that case, let's go straight there."
Approaching the tavern and leading his horse to the stable, the pair entered. Reaching the bar and looking around, Alco spoke again:
"See how many people are here, Janna? It's unusual for such a small village, but even more unusual is the fact that there are elves, foreigners from all human kingdoms except our homeland, and even a serpent man. Those elves and two foreigners – he nodded towards a group talking to Vincent – are being hired for some job. That means the rest are probably looking for employers. And if that's the case..." he stopped his thought and shouted, "Bartender! Two beers!"
