In my opinion, everything is very clearly stated in "Dynasty Achievements" (with a minor exception) about what the coins are awarded for. I'm not a hardcore player (due to family circumstances :). I've only completed five maps in single-player mode and the first mission in the campaign for Necropolis and two missions for the Alliance – I earned 12,150 coins. Some achievements were earned automatically, and some I completed deliberately. By the way, I started the game not with campaigns, but with single-player maps, and I didn't receive any coins during their completion.
