Let me state upfront that I'm writing these thoughts before reading the accumulated posts from players.
Mission failed.
While the Cop was attaching a silencer to his pistol, an unknown assailant crept up from behind and slit his throat. Too bad, because the Cop never managed to save the princess, nor himself.
The silencer represents a silent kill, leaving no trace. The Cop was clearly a Walker, as hinted by the newspaper's name. The method of killing is quite human.
VisTrit tried to find a way out of Black Mesa, but he was not destined to see the sunlight again. A powerful electric shock killed him instantly, making his skin even darker, while the interdimensional traveler continued on his way.
The discharge was powerful. For example, accumulated over time. It killed a Vortigaunt. And Vis was Vance.
Lynx found herself in the wrong place at the wrong time; running didn't help her, and a purple electric discharge tore her to pieces, leaving only a piece of fabric with a red cross and a bouquet of Portuguese flowers.
The purple discharge is from a Voltigaunt, the red cross indicates a medic.
