And Bulgakov – maybe. He came up with "The Master and Margarita," and how can you take him seriously?:D

Well, Bulgakov isn't considered a classic just because of "The Master and Margarita." He has some truly powerful works: "The White Guard," "Theatrical Novel," "The Life of Monsieur de Molière." These are truly serious works in the context of classical drama. And "The Master and Margarita," unfortunately, is an overplayed pop culture phenomenon, although it does contain a certain element of truth.
