In Age of Wonders, almost every unit (especially heroes) had several abilities, and using them took up a turn; this, combined with the incredibly large battle map, provided enormous tactical possibilities, which, unfortunately, are not present in Heroes; that is, tactics also exist in Heroes, and quite interesting ones, but in Age of Wonders, they were more diverse and played a more significant role.
