Too much attention is focused on specific, insignificant details, resulting in a drawing that becomes something if not grotesque, then at least unpleasant to look at. They don't just draw; they devise their own logical chain for each detail of the drawing, often embellishing these parts of the picture with something completely obscure. They don't adhere to proportions and often smudge. Very often, they associate themselves with characters or objects in the drawings, accordingly depicting the surrounding reality. This applies specifically to schizophrenia.
