Heroes of Might and Magic IV “King of the Hill” Duel Tournament

Points are awarded for each victory in a battle, as I understand it, and not for the overall victory in total? I haven't quite understood yet - are all three battles mandatory? That is, if you play 2-0, is the third battle still mandatory?

The main criterion is victory over a player. Points serve as an additional criterion in case of a tie. If the score is already 2-0, then the third battle is not mandatory (if both players agree). But in this case, you can still lose based on the additional parameter, because two players advance from the group.
