That happened to me too. I decided not to re-take the slow routes – I was tempted by two nests that were revealed on the first day, an external dwelling of Gorgons, and a Dragon Utopia (later, I found two more). But overall, the rewards from the external dwellings weren't great, except for the Gorgons – one Lizardman camp and about ten Gnolls, which I lost miserably. The main joy of the game came from getting 80 Lizardmen at the first Pandora’s Box location. I ventured into the center at level 127, and only started attacking the Dragon Utopias starting from level 132. I found three Tomes of Magic, but my magic stats were weak compared to Gundula. By the beginning of the fourth week, I had gathered a horde of Vivacs, got the Red Orb, drove Gundula out of the center, and became bolder, venturing towards my opponent's respawn point, where, before reaching his capital, I was punished.
