Haven – “Something’s afoot” [Campaign 3 – Mission 1]

The experience of completing the mission is mixed. It took three attempts to succeed. It's true that the Orcs behave differently each time. The first time, I headed south (for some reason, I kept going downwards), clearing everything along the way, but I split my army between two heroes to progress faster (this was a mistake; the units in the armies were small, and there were losses). I captured the Haven fortress, defeated the Orcs at the stream, and defeated the army with the hero, but it was tough. I barely managed to capture the enemy fortress with the remaining units, and then it was all over. The Orc in the southern castle was too strong, and another one arrived from the east. The second time was even worse – by the end of the second week, I was already under attack from both the south and the east (by the way, I didn't stand near the passages) – there were hordes of enemies, and again, there was no chance. The third time, no one arrived so quickly. I went south again, captured my fortress there, didn't even bother going through the stream, and went east instead (maybe it's just my subjective opinion, but I think the Orcs are weaker in the east). I captured both the fortress and the castle there and went back south, and then everything went smoothly.
