I especially dislike it when people I barely know (or don't know at all) start using diminutives. (where is the vomiting smiley? this is not right!)

Well, strangers—that's true... Although it depends on what you consider a diminutive... For instance, if people I barely know call me Tanya—I don't mind, but if it's Tanyechka, Tanyushka, etc.—I'll be outraged. On the other hand, friends are allowed everything. Even things that aren't exactly names ;) For example, my best friend calls me tatkO :D :D (the stress is specifically on the last syllable). And it's fine—I like it!:rolleyes:
