I'm just curious why one would write it like that. Knowing the weapon type greatly reduces the number of possible player roles. It's clear here that Hostor cannot have energy weapons. Only the mechanic, magister, and bibliarian have them. But the first two are corpses, and the latter's status is loyal to Chaos. Still, the mafia's motives remain unclear to me.

Hmm, there's actually something interesting here. Let's assume that Hostor really is an iterator. Then the note about his energy weapon cannot be a "whitewashing" attempt by heretics — because they went to kill the Magister, and the only possible role left for Hos would be bibliarian. Similarly, a note about Hostor's loyalty to Chaos is unlikely to belong to the heretics — most roles in the city are loyal to the Emperor. On the other hand, what sense does it make for the Inquisition to blacken the reputation of someone they were killing in their notes? My confidence in Hos being an iterator has wavered... Correct me if I've mixed something up.
