It is said that during a grand dinner hosted by Charles the Bold on the day of his marriage to the English princess Margaret, a marvel of mechanics appeared – an automaton in the form of a unicorn. On the back of this mythical creature was a leopard, holding a shield with the English coat of arms in one paw and a daisy in the other. After circling the table, the unicorn stopped in front of the duke, and the knight accompanying it removed the daisy from the leopard's paw and handed it to the duke, saying a witty pun related to the princess and the flower.
