I agree with Arom, if Spear is truly a maniac, the Mafia will redirect him and control him.

A maniac plays to win and always wants to survive. There's no point in attacking the Town in the next few nights, at least 2-3. Otherwise, they'll catch him. So, either play by our rules, hide, or do nothing. In any case, the Mafia won't only fail to control him, but they'll also mess up a pretty good Night Defense.
