No, 4 minutes in SOD is a normal time. At least, it's enough for me :-)

Then another question: did you think it through when you signed up for the tournament? Many will spend an average of 15-20 minutes per turn, and it could take even longer, up to 30-40 minutes: shooting down a horde of golems with a ballista or having a couple of psions take down a horde of zombies.
