You could be a little smarter and just look at the date of the post that was quoted.
It's not at all clear why that post was quoted. Maybe it was just a coincidence, or maybe not. Either way, it doesn't affect the main point, or the original date of the post.
Back then, we were only playing simple games, and it was perfectly natural to want to try something more challenging.
