grelly (Haven, Vittorio) lost to Vsev (Necropolis, Lucretia) in Might and Magic III, 2-2-3
Although the initial setup was very good – Rutger, Vitia; 1st, 2nd dwellings, and a fortress – he couldn't break out of the skirmishes for a long time. As a result, he couldn't level up properly or get decent artifacts. Vitia only took the light castle literally one turn before the finale – without mass spells and without higher-level spells, he couldn't do anything against the Necropolis.
