Many people here also "don't care." The question is, what is the value of that ranking (the TOP ranking)? Any average player, if they want to, can easily achieve first place in the ranking, especially if they've already played on the forum. Knowing the players, you can even pick opponents to guarantee a 100% win.

No scoring system can solve this problem, no matter how ideal it may be. However, an automatic ranking, which is what people are talking about, could potentially make a slight adjustment. When a person plays and immediately sees the effect of their game, this visibility will motivate them to compete. Something like, "Aha, StickyFingaz is in first place, but I'm only 50 points behind him. I'll catch up now; there are still 7 days left in the season." That's the spirit! :D And the more players who are enthusiastically involved in the race, the more objective it will be.

And then there's the status (prestige). Everyone already understands that winning a season is one thing, winning a tournament is another, and performing well in an inter-portal competition is yet another – they are completely different categories of awards.

And it's obvious which is cooler.
