Satir, a player for the ХВ team in the last interportal competition, applied to participate in the Baev selection; I am interested: is the ban on legionnaires participating in the selection the position of a specific leader on a specific resource, or is it an action taken in accordance with Sticky's wishes as the tournament organizer?

For my part, I can repeat once again that yes, on our resource, that is exactly how it is, and this is the position of the judging panel and the resource's team.

Once again, regarding team formation. There just wasn't time to explain in detail to the forum what and how.

But for some reason, at that time, no one except the team players and Psyche_7 was interested.
Therefore, we continued in a closed topic.
Opinions, as always, were diametrically opposed.
The main arguments for "by voting":
- One tournament cannot give an objective picture; anyone who has played many tournaments knows perfectly well that almost any player of the highest level can be eliminated in the very first round;
- It is still quite far until March; it is unknown who will have the opportunity to play; we are adults, and real life is not always predictable;
- Holding a good tournament in such a short period of time is quite difficult; those who have run tournaments will understand me.
Arguments for "based on tournament results" (mostly I came up with them for myself to convince myself of the need to hold a tournament):
- Everyone wants it;
- There were several requests from people personally asking me to "give [them] a chance," "play against strong players," "get acquainted with the rules and template."

Forming a team based on the results of the Interportal Competition was an obvious decision. Three (out of 12) players from the team brought the team 12 out of 19 points. You'll agree that the result speaks for itself.
But Andrey is taking a break for 2012 and won't be playing. Nevertheless, I listed him as the first reserve player, just in case something changes.

Next, while I was working on translating the rules, unexpectedly for me, voting began. They voted for 6 players: 3 starters + 3 reserves. A vote for the starting lineup gave 2 points, and for the reserves - 1 point.

Javdet already wrote that his result was unexpected for him. Although there is nothing strange about it, he consistently shows high results in tournaments on three Russian-speaking resources, plays a lot and successfully. By high results, I mean his consistent performance in reaching the semi-finals and finals of various tournaments, as well as winning the League twice on one portal, and taking second place in Favorites....
When I told him the results, yes, he wasn't against playing in the selection, but again, he also has real life commitments, and it is quite likely that he will not have the technical ability to play from March. The selection loses its meaning for him, and if he also eliminates an obvious contender for the trip, then that would be completely wrong.

Regarding newbie Pit. I was also surprised that it was so unanimous; thank you all for your trust.
Probably, the last tournament had an influence, where he managed to defeat numOne, Sticky, GoD, Vano (who eliminated Scorpion and Satir), Psyche_7 with a score of 2-0, ATG 2-1, and during the matches, Faer, Leader1, R55Max, RomarioGrom were eliminated...
And + the Interportal Competition, apparently.
I will try to live up to expectations, although, of course, it will be difficult; the lineup is strong, and we must remember that in full double elimination mode, after just two rounds, a quarter of the participants are permanently eliminated.

And besides, I've been doing this since December 17th. Those who have run tournaments know what it's like and how much time it takes. Already now, in these three weeks, I've spent so much time that it would be enough to play 5-6 games, so you can say that I've already played my part in this tournament, while the others haven't even started:
- I conducted the discussion/voting,
- I probably spent as much time on ICQ as I did during the interportal competition draw,
- I translated the rules, not using Google Translate, but in Russian, and in a sequence familiar to us,
- I created the template and wrote the description; you don't have a Chinese version with a Chinese description, but one in our terms,
- I communicated with players unknown to me,
- I explained everything to everyone,
- I drew up the bracket,
- We made the draw,
- I will try to watch the broadcasts
- And if possible, I will help players learn the rules. I am well acquainted with them, and I participated in writing them for both the last World Championship and this one, and I played according to them extensively.
And all of this is further complicated by the fact that in that warm sunny country where I currently live and work, there are no extra days off, and Christmas (December 25th) and New Year fell on Sundays. And at work here, it is customary to work, but somehow browsing the internet, drawing lots, or chatting is not allowed... Plus, there is a time difference... Plus problems with the connection... What will happen in March - I don't know...
