...And switching teams is normal. But constantly jumping back and forth is just weird. It's like with interportal tournaments: "I'm playing for the Hive," and then during the selection: "I've always played for the Haven."

Well, if it's clear, why stir things up? Everything is done logically, clearly, and correctly. Have you ever seen in any sport where a player who didn't make the main team of his country tries to get in through another team?

I read and read, but it's turning into something strange. At the very least, Fire doesn't deserve such a description. From what I've observed, he's played a lot of games in the World tournament. Who invited whom is a secondary matter. He wanted to play for the Hive, so he played. It was a different tournament.
The fact that someone got offended that such a strong player as Fire decided to play for their rivals... well, we're not little girls to get offended. In general, looking for a reason to be offended is a result of one's own mistakes or shortcomings.

Now, to the point:
There's a wise thought: "the essence of the problem always lies in its beginning; there you can also find its solutions."
So, I believe the problem lies in the very formulation: "three people from each faction."
It was based on this that Pit wrote a lot of text at the beginning of the topic, trying to protect the World tournament spots from all "outsiders," but as Samurai rightly noted, from players who are, on average, stronger. This isn't directed at Pit and Javdet, but at the whole list in general. This is a selection for the World Championship, why have this group of mediocre and/or unnecessary games on three factions? No offense, but each faction has its own TOP-8 or TOP-10, plus another ten strong players (according to the generally accepted opinion of the players). Not all of them will want to/be able to, and realistically, there will be about 15-16 people from the World, 8-10 from the Hive, and 10-12 from the Portal. Maybe even less. In total, out of 32-36, you can play for these 9 spots or however many there are. And this will be a selection among the truly strongest players, perhaps not from ONE country, as we were before, but from the CIS, based on the territorial principle that unites us now.
This would be a tournament that is no less popular than the interportal one, and it would have a unifying character for the Heroes community, rather than the clustering and negativity that we are currently seeing.
