That's kind of the whole point. It's silly when slow Hydras move as often as fast Centaurs. And it also adds to the strategic element.

So, they're not as slow as some people think.
It's ridiculous when an Ent stands still for 2 turns, and then suddenly moves halfway across the map in one turn.
