Question: Is it allowed to open saved games? It's clear why you would open them – only to load them, of course.

This point is not regulated by the rules.
Personally, I think it's not allowed. I never do it myself, and I know that many players would find such behavior extremely unpleasant.
To "remember," it is usually considered good practice for a player who is loading a game after a break to give their opponent time to look at the situation and then pass the turn.
And

offline and without a timer seems much more free -- and an adequate assessment of the situation and setting future goals is the key to victory...

that's a completely different game; we're playing online. I think it's unfair to give yourself an advantage by thinking without a timer.

I'm planning to edit the rules soon; I probably need to write something about these types of loads...
