First, regarding the completed nominations. During yesterday's typing session, it completely slipped my mind that I was also supposed to vote; however, Vegtam and Morning won by a significant margin, so my vote wouldn't have made any difference anyway. Regarding the best Mafia player: strangely enough, two nicknames immediately come to mind – Morning and Hostor. Few would dispute that Morning has been performing very well in recent games, but if you remember, his gameplay was solid since he first started playing. He performed well in Troy, won as a maniac in the twenty-first game (even if there was "cheater" recruitment there), and as I recall, he drew Mafia's aggro when he was a cannoneer in the twenty-fifth—meaning he played the role to perfection.
On the other hand, we have Hostor, who appeared, if I am not mistaken, in the ninth game on ХВ. As far as I can tell, that "olololing" everyone hates so much appeared in games 31-32. Back then, I didn't like his playstyle either. But if you look deeper, you can recall many interesting things. From his first games, he always had his own opinion, took the game seriously, wasn't lazy about searching for clues, paid attention to psychology, did a good job uncovering the Mafia while playing for the town, and was great at messing with heads while playing as Mafia. Probably few remember how in the now-ancient twelfth game, playing the role of a pastry chef (a protector whose passive ability kills the attacker), he knocked three negatives out of the game. This is much harder than doing the same as a town shooter, for example. Was it luck? Hardly.
From recent games, one can recall Neyra's Mafia, as well as Zubr's "heads." I didn't read it at all; however, Hostor has seven kills on his conscience in that game, which is another record.
But I will abstain and not give my vote to either of them. I would have preferred they both share the victory in this nomination, but that is no longer possible, and my vote won't affect it.
Oh yes, I also remember Gil. How could we forget him? In terms of analytics, few can compete with him because he takes the study of the setting and newspapers seriously and spends time on it. How many of us study all passive abilities, special features, and other details to the smallest point? The same goes for newspapers. The "night plans" he drew up were more often successful than not. In the thirty-first Mafia game, after a very serious mistake with Slonysh, he still managed to redeem himself in that same game. By the way, the more players there are who want to do things "their own way," the richer the daytime gameplay becomes, don't you think?
As for the downsides, I wouldn't say it's dullness, but... the pointlessness of having dialogues with him. It creates an effect as if you're talking to an echo or hitting your head against a wall, seriously. However, thanks to him, the thirty-second game became one of those that I remember best. Back then, I played sincerely and from the heart; I had things to discuss, things to write about, things to argue over, which is why there was interest in the game, allowing me to play my role "as it should be." A thought recently crossed my mind that what's more interesting during the day in Mafia – some absurd idea that you want to dispute and point out its stupidity, or a typical execution based on a block with the usual "you are making a mistake, I am town" responses.
Determining the best Mage Guild is also quite difficult because everyone is good at something. Nebo and Tori probably have the most original settings; VisTrit has wonderful descriptions of roles and newspapers. They are pleasant to read, while the newspapers remain within the game's framework and aren't transparent as glass – there is something to think about. But in terms of good clues, few come to mind; everyone's are either too simple or completely unsolvable. Lizard had a soulful game like that, and besides, it seemed to have innovations while maintaining a good balance.
It is also a great pity that Vegtam once abandoned the idea for his "insane" setting, perhaps due to a lack of players.
Anyway, I'll abstain here too x)
Deciding on the music was slightly easier. For The Lunar Republic and Nanne Gronvall - Hall om mig appealed to me immediately after the first listen, so I'll vote for them, but it's harder to decide on the last track. I spent a long time choosing between DAJTE and Vivre a en crever, but having not decided, I will vote for the song following them, Siege... Or maybe Hear Me Now?! Tough choice! Alright, Siege it is.

Somewhere high in the mountains was a secret army base, the last line of defense for Heroesland. And although those who captured the main base had not yet advanced deep into the state, Siverfale felt that the situation was getting out of control; for this very reason, he came here – to check the condition and combat readiness of "this." What was it? The best that academia and the army could achieve through joint effort: a satellite cannon that could destroy any target in seconds, scorching the earth in a huge radius and at a huge distance. Its only downside was the high demand for electricity; for a single launch, the entire city had to be powered down, and the next launch would not be possible for another 4 hours.
The importance of this technological marvel and other developments led to the tightening of defenses in these lands; in other words – the base was practically impregnable, and its defense systems were capable of destroying any enemy.
At the meeting currently taking place, a very serious question was being decided: namely, whether to use the satellite cannon to destroy external aggressors.
- Categorically against! – shouted one of the attending officers.
- Would you rather Heroesland be simply captured? – another picked up.
- Or better yet, have part of it flooded? – a third joined in, - after all, we don't know the reserves and military potential of our enemy! It is possible that they have no one else besides the forces already deployed! Our troops will have no trouble crushing them if they decide to leave the dam!
- Where does such confidence come from?
- In any case, the decision rests with the general.
- I will think everything over and provide you with my decision in an hour. Now, please disperse.
When all the officers had left the hall, the general turned to Vegtam.
- What do we have on the fugitives?
- The king and queen have taken refuge in the Holy Haven of Vice.
- I see.
- I think it was the right decision – to focus on the new enemy; however, I believe we should not discard our, so to speak, political moves.
- Correct. What about the anthem?
- The statistics are as follows:
1. Rhapsody - Knightrider of Doom - Nebo, Ple-Sen, Imaris, ToX
2. For The Lunar Republic - Nebo, ToX, Dragneel
3. Hollywood Undead - Hear Me Now - Arandor
4. The World is saved - Siverfale, WhiteLizard, Drakkoshka, Imaris
5. Fairy Tail Natsu Theme - Nebo, VisTrit, Amko, WhiteLizard, Imaris
6. Portal - Credits Song 'Still Alive' - Ple-Sen
7. Aperion - Dajte - Morning, Amko, WhiteLizard, ToX
8. Pelageya - Mama's Bossa Nova
9. Amaury Vassili - Sognu
10. Within Temptation - Forsaken - Siverfale
11. Siege - Kamelot - Mortulus, Neyra, Dragneel
12. Fighter, Cleric, Thief and Mage - Mortulus, VisTrit, Neyra, Drakkoshka
13. Tchaikovsky Overture 1812 - The Final - ending (V for Vendetta)
14. Requiem for a dream - Arandor, Drakkoshka
15. Nanne Gronvall - Hall om mig - VisTrit, Ple-Sen, Amko, Dragneel
16. Arkona - Glory to Rus! - Mortulus, Morning
17. Mikelangelo Loconte Florent Mothe - Vivre a en crever - Arandor, Morning, Neyra, Siverfale
- Does this mean the anthem of ХВ will be Natsu no Theme?
- Exactly.
- Understood. Any ideas for the next move?
- Hmm... Given the current situation, it wouldn't hurt us to recruit a number of talented people to strengthen our position. For instance, a person with an excellent sense of humor could maintain the morale of our soldiers, and an inventive person could offer many new, useful ideas.
- That is how we shall proceed.
...
Initially, I had the idea to hold a small creative contest, meaning each participant would send a drawing, some kind of story or something else, and the others would vote just like with the music and pictures; however... I don't think many works would come in, and there isn't much time. Therefore, I had to use something more primitive. We all know the Video, best? thread, right? We often post beautiful or simply interesting videos there, in our opinion. And as you have probably guessed, you are to send a link to one such video for subsequent voting (it must be embeddable). Another chance for everyone to discover something new and see what others like. Also, I think this will be the last contest of this type (send -> vote) because I think everyone has already grown tired of them.
And in the new nominations, we are choosing a person with the best sense of humor and the rookie of the year. In the first one, I think it's clear – give your vote to whoever's jokes or simply posts make you laugh or just smile. In the second, interpretation is free; the only restriction is that the registration date must be no earlier than 2011.
