What bothers me is that on YouTube and VKontakte, the same melody exists under different names and by different authors.

It's the same thing – it drives me crazy when the composition "Secret Garden - Song from the Secret Garden" is attributed to Mozart, Shostakovich, and a bunch of other authors, giving it all sorts of different names. That's just how it is on VKontakte.
