I've never played on TE or WoG, so I have a question for the tournament participants who play on TE: do you use some agreed-upon WoG-ification settings, or does everyone use their own? :o

We play on TE, but not on WoG!!!
When generating the starting save, the tournament organizer already entered all the settings that will apply to this map.

The maps, like the tasks, are very interesting, so they are worth playing. And the tournament is open-ended: the first results will be tallied on December 10, but that doesn't mean there's no point in playing further — in fact, it becomes even more meaningful!

You can wait for the first results to be tallied, see how other players performed, and then play those maps yourself, already knowing what to expect and what can be done.

When the next results are tallied, your result will be counted and could become the best result (i.e., it could beat the previous winners).

Additionally, new tasks should be posted every month, NO LESS interesting than the previous ones.
So it won't be boring.

You can start playing now, and after December 10, you'll know what to expect.
It's not a problem if you don't make it by the 10th; those are just preliminary results!

Dear nprf, I strongly disliked your opinion that everyone rushed into the "Best of the Best" tournament because it's easier, and that it's a tournament for beginners who don't know how to play, and that you feel it's a waste of your time!!! I participated in it only because it features the good old Heroes in their original form, rather than a modified TE with some innovations that I don't have the slightest clue about yet... Yes, this will be my first internet tournament, but that doesn't mean I'm a weak player, just as it doesn't mean other forum newcomers are weak players!!!!! The fact that you decided not to play there is very bad — I will assume you were simply afraid of losing to "beginners," that's all!!! I URGE YOU TO PLAY IN IT AND PROVE THE OPPOSITE!!! Yes, you have less time, but there is still plenty!!! I bet I'll be higher than you in the tournament table, and for greater fairness, I can send the save in just 3 days... Perhaps I may pay for my words, but I call upon a recognized good player of the forum to join the tournament and raise the level of the tournament in the eyes of the forum members who are not participating, so that the winner, whoever it may be, is not considered a "winner of beginners"!!! WILL YOU PLAY??? OR DO YOU NOT DARE???

I would gladly play on TE if I had it and if I knew its intricacies.... Tomorrow I'll buy WoG, patch it, and in a couple of months, I'll definitely play in the tournament where the "forum elite" play, without abandoning the tournaments where only "beginners" play...

There is no need to attack NPRF just because he expressed an opinion that I largely agree with.
No one called you beginners at Heroes, and if the word "beginners" was used, it referred to beginners in TOURNAMENTS.
I realized this myself: playing Heroes at home is ONE thing, but participating in tournaments is something completely DIFFERENT!

I played at home for 7 years, but when I participated in a tournament, I only beat the beginners and, by a small margin, the AMATEURS, while the experienced players were worlds away from me.

To play well in tournaments, you need to forget many usual things and "at-home" gaming habits, and almost radically rebuild your system!

Therefore, do not challenge someone to a duel in such a RUDE manner, obviously knowing in advance the 99% fact of your own defeat. If you want to prove something — join us! :)

I don't know what place you would have taken, but if nprf had participated, he would undoubtedly have taken 1st place (he wouldn't have participated otherwise).

If you still don't believe in how tournaments are played — you can look at the results in the section of EVERY completed tournament, and at best, your jaw will drop (at least that was my reaction when I, like you, decided to participate in tournaments for the first time and randomly looked at the results of a previous tournament;))

If you are interested in how tournaments are played SPECIFICALLY FOR SPEED, take a look at the section for Heroes 1 and 2, and the Clan Tournament for Heroes 3 and 5. By the way, for Heroes 2, the result was 8 days (nprf completed it in 5).
If you conduct an analysis, you'll realize that speed-run tournament maps are completed in no more than 2 weeks (regardless of size).

If you really play as well as you wrote, then after your first tournament, you will inevitably feel the desire to play here with us.
And if that desire arises, we will be happy to welcome you into the ranks of participants (as well as anyone else who wishes).
