I personally like the Knights the most in the third game because:
- they have a ridiculously strong hero, Sir Mullich, who increases the speed of all his units by 2;
- heroes, after level 10, develop all four skills very harmoniously, and relying on only one type of magic, especially when playing on large maps, is simply foolish (the army becomes so large that all combat magic becomes useless);
- the troops are strong and relatively inexpensive.
I really respect the Tower faction, but I can't actually play as it because it requires TOO much money to buy troops. The Tower is the most expensive Castle in the game. On the highest difficulty level, playing as them is simply impossible - by the time you scrape together enough resources for a Naga (since they need different and many resources, and you also need to upgrade the magic tower), the AI will already have unupgraded level 7 units... In hot-seat mode, it's different, but I mainly play against the AI.
In general, the faction is very cool. An archer + 2 flying units + Nagas (a level 6 unit with retaliation) - total respect!
I also like the Elves, but mostly for aesthetic reasons... And they have really great music in the third game!
P.S. - if only they were cheaper...
P.P.S. - I only play on Impossible difficulty
