By the way, hockey isn't entirely a winter sport; in the USA and Canada, it's played year-round – the NHL!

I also really love football, both watching and playing it.

They play on an artificial surface (ice), the Stanley Cup starts in September and ends in May-June (2 teams), so what do you mean by year-round? Do you mean they play on ice in that condition during the summer?
