Reports of online games and their confirmations (Winter season 2011-12).
19.12.2011 Juristis (red, Inferno, Marius, Luna/Tazar) def Hitch (blue, Stronghold, Gretchin, Dessa) 2sm4d(3) 131 I finally decided to play Inferno for the first time. The first roll made me happy: 2 native heroes, an external dwelling of imps, lots of gold, but I lost to the "dregs on grass" while trying to get to the adjacent zone. Inferno army showed its fragility; afterwards, I was more cautious. Then there were 2 more, again decent rolls: the first with a double-build, Crag Hack, Clavius, an external dwelling of imps; the second with external dwellings of demons and devils. But my opponent restarted. The game. I spawned at the top (just like the 3 previous times). Two native heroes come in: Tazar, then Luna, some gold is found, artifacts are scattered around. And then a crisis with ore hits; mines are cut off by mountains; as a result, I had to build a market, and the efreet cost as much as 116. Took an external dwelling of gogs, Luna on 116 finally advances Fire Magic, I break through 2 adjacent zones, Tazar on a pegasus jumps into an empty Conflux (was quite lucky this game, all things considered). At the corner of the spawn, a Griffin Conservatory is scouted. End of the first week: efreet in the Citadel, gold ran out, resources are scarce, and it's not very clear where to get more. Tazar is level 4 with Offense and Air, Luna is level 5. 121 — Luna gets expert Fire Magic, finds a Shield +4 in a skeleton and rushes home for mana. Tazar recovers some gold, a scout hero checks the Griffin Conservatory, it's a tier 2. 122 — Luna picks up Cloak 2-2, heads to the Griffin Conservatory. Tazar stays put; not a single (!) income structure has been found; what to do is completely unclear; there is an idea to break through the GO at the end of the week, but it's quite an adventurous one. 124 — Pit Fiend upgrade, Luna takes the Griffin Conservatory, still no gold. 125 — Found a Griffin Conservatory not far from the Conflux; Luna kills a horde of ogre magi and rushes there, dropping by upgrade shrines as well. 127 — The Griffin Conservatory, unfortunately, is a tier 1. Tazar takes on a max Medusa stack, but I let the Medusas block the imp corpse pile; result: lost imps and some gogs, and got 0 demons. Well, at least I built a Castle. Marius finds a Griffin Conservatory on the barbarian spawn, again in a corner, with a beehive nearby, but no chain to the Stronghold. Same turn, Dessa arrives with 40 goblins, 8 birds, and 3 bears, kills my scout hero, takes Shield +3 and Kneepads 1-1. 131 — Luna fights into the Conflux, builds a Town Gate (GM2), have both Lightning Bolt and Blind; Tazar recovers a couple of treasure chests, gets Tactics. In Inferno, I buy 7 efreet with all my gold, hoping to defend with a Castle if Dessa charges in. Here, the opponent probably should have split back home and sent the army back along the chain. But he did the opposite: brought reinforcements, killed Champions for Sword 2-2, and attacked Luna. Final battle — Dessa: 8-7-4-4 (no mana), 4 bears, 13 birds; the rest apparently lost on the Champions. Luna: 1-6-10-9 (60 mana), 3 Angels, 2 Efreet, 3 Pit Fiends, 14 Demons, 10 Gogs. In the final battle, only 2 fairies were lost to remove retaliation; there was no ransom, as I understand; Blind + Lightning Bolt did their job. Thanks for the game. P.S. By the way, thanks for the 2 auto-wins due to a miss-click.
