I don't understand what the point of additional reports is.
This is a tournament for beginners; the purpose of the report was to show that I "can technically play online and understand the rules of the game" - that is, what I wrote should be enough for participation.

And I'll still have to write a report for each game in the tournament.

ICQ is definitely necessary, as it is the main way to communicate with opponents on many forums. I don't think it's that hard to set up.

I created an ICQ account specifically for Heroes, for the first time in my life.
It seems like Skype has become more popular a long time ago.
