Yes, and on the first two albums of After Forever, the composer is Mark Jansen, the same one as in Epica. In fact, after the second album, he had a falling out with the band and started his own project. I only listened to the first album of After Forever, it's good, but it doesn't quite reach the level of Epica.
I listened to almost all of them, except for the last one, IMHO - the 2004 album is better. Although even there, the songs don't sound too similar. I used to like Simone's vocals more than Floor's, now they're about the same.
