Is a ninja class needed in RPG maps?

Mages are also fighters, they just have different weapons. And a spy on the battlefield is nonsense.

Well, firstly, an RPG map isn't just battles... He's a Necromancer and a Thief, so he'll be useful both in battle and on the map.
