Technical issues with Heroes III.

Please help. Here's the situation: I had Windows 7 x64 on my laptop, and Heroes of Might and Magic ran perfectly. I also copied the Heroes folder to a flash drive, and it worked on other computers as well. My system crashed, so I reinstalled Windows, and now Heroes refuses to launch. I tried running the version from the flash drive, downloaded other versions from the internet, but everywhere it's the same – it crashes when launched (the game cursor appears on a black background, and then it crashes – the program stops working).
