THIS IS WHAT I WANTED TO SAY: in Heroes 3, the developers had imagination, but lacked the technology; in Heroes 5, they have the technology, but it seems their imagination has run dry... oh, if they had the resources back then – they could have skipped all the other installments, because you can't make anything better! :) :)
By the way, the Nival Interactive team really lacks imagination. No matter how you look at it, the castles of Humans, Elves (Light), Mages, Demons, and Necromancers are practically copied from Heroes 3. Don't tell me that by swapping the griffin and the swordsman, the developers changed the castle.
And for the Mages – do Rakshasas and Nagas have even a couple of fundamental differences? Well, at least in the number of arms, right? :p
The Elves removed the Gnomes – and that's something to be thankful for, considering the complex relationship between these races in all fantasy worlds, and otherwise... they even took the Fairies and Druids, which is also not the developers' idea – it's from the second part of the game, sorry.
Replacing the Black Knights with Undead in the Necropolis is too little to consider it a significantly changed castle.
The Demons, of course, have completely different Cave Lords, and the Nightmares and Succubi refresh the set of creatures. But at the same time, the Imps, which still steal mana, the Cerberuses, which are just as useless (despite the explosion), the Demon – a unit for the sake of having one, they had to come up with something, but they couldn't – and the Devils, which left all players puzzled: what are they supposed to do? A lump of meat that can't do anything special (summoning the Lord is a one-time thing for the entire battle, and I'm talking about such perks as attacking multiple squads, retaliation, etc. – in general, about what the unit does constantly).
By the way, the Succubi caused some confusion. Considering that they are demons who seduce men and feed on their life and sexual energy, they behave rather strangely when attacking men's hearts... with fire to the face – BAM! In Disciples, they were more adequate – they didn't beat anyone up, at least. Although the retaliatory shot is a good idea, at least it's fresh.
Yes, and one more thing... in general, the Succubi and Demonesses here are quite attractive, but if they are going to seduce mortal men... then it would be nice if they at least shaved their legs. :p
