Game Assets

#15

Okay, I've solved the problem. I had to roll back 10 turns (instead of 2-3) and replay, the enemy went in a different direction, landed on a different island, and the bug was gone. I won't let that scoundrel go to that buggy island again.

kinORnirvana, let's look at this from a correct angle. I'll try to break down the problem into points.
But first, it should be said that a similar problem has occurred (fortunately, not with me) with different players and on different maps, which I read about in various "Heroes" forums on the Internet.
Personally, on one map (Forest Revenge), I occasionally experienced a "crash" of SoD during the enemy's turn. Loading the AUTOSAVE in WoG, completing the turn in it, and saving the beginning of the next day helped; this save loaded normally into SoD, and I continued the game... until the next crash. And I did manage to win!
So,
1. Game bugs should be fixed by its developers, and in a timely manner. This probably happened many years ago when NWC was still "alive".
2. No one has yet undertaken such a great task as identifying the cause of any bug in "Heroes" and, moreover, fixing it (exception: HD mod by baratorch, however, it probably "simply" rewrote some procedures, without identifying the errors themselves).
3. If a map "glitches" and it is not possible to pass it beyond a certain day/place, the most reasonable thing is not to go crazy, but to abandon it (even if with great regret): there are still hundreds of interesting maps that can be completed and where there are no bugs!
However, if anyone can help "dig" into the save - why not? By the way, be sure to tell us what comes of it!
Yes, and what is the map? Can you give a link or post it here?
Thank you, Marmot, for the recommendations.
The map is called Uprising, and it is displayed in the game as The Uprizing. You can view the description and download it here:
www.maps4heroes.com Uprizing map.
"it is not possible to pass it beyond" - yes, it seems that I have abandoned some games for this reason. But I don't want to abandon Uprizing. It intrigues me very much. It has a good plot, many different events, and a lot of hints are given, only everything is in English. Therefore, those who cannot read English will find it very difficult, and they may also not fulfill one condition and, because of this, not win.
It's funny, but I started this map a year ago. After playing for 2-3 months, killing half of the enemies, I started to think that my strength was running out, and that I couldn't do anything more - it's just impossible, and I gave up. And recently I continued, and it turns out it's not impossible. You can find ways. :)
I just defeated another enemy.

I only tried the HD mod by baratorch today - it's a very good thing. One lag disappeared (SoD crashed when you create a portal to a castle, and if you move the mouse for the first 3 seconds while the animation is running - crash). This lag has been bothering me for a long time. It's not in the HD version.

In general, I am rather glad about this bug, thanks to which I learned about all the news happening with Heroes, and found new mods.

Your knowledge (of Visimay, at least) is good, but the words are generally empty, don't take it personally, of course.
If you want to "tinker" with Heroes with a non-selfish motive (aka pass a certain save, because it's just a game) - then you are welcome - go to the forum www.Forum.df2.ru, you can even indicate in the registration reason that I (phomm) advised.
If you just want to pass the save, I can help you a little - dig something up through ArtMoney, because I have modding experience.
Hmm. I think ArtMoney won't help here. It's unlikely. Although, if you have experience, then maybe... But the problem has already been solved, thank goodness.

As for tinkering, I doubt you have the source code, and without the source code, I can disassemble it myself without a forum. The situation is different if you have some ready-made developments (processed reverse-engineered sources), then it makes sense to tinker there. Maybe it will be possible to fix a couple of bugs. But tinkering with Heroes from scratch is a Sisyphean task. I've already tried to do something similar...
And your link doesn't work.
