Spear, playing with his knives, walked calmly down the corridor. He was so self-confident that he feared absolutely nothing. And when a silhouette appeared ahead, Spear only quickened his pace. He ran out into a rather large loading hall and began looking around for a shadow, when suddenly a huge sword fell upon him. Only innate agility and reaction speed saved Spear from the attack—he blocked the strike with his two knives. The attacker's strength was immense, and Spear buckled under the pressure. His mind feverishly devised a plan for escape. A second's delay, Spear dropped to one knee—and an idea immediately came to him. Spear pushed off, slid between the opponent's legs and sprang to his feet, preparing to strike from behind. But then the attacker showed cunning—he quickly and carefully grabbed his sword by the blade and struck his victim hard with the hilt in the unprotected abdomen. From the pain, Spear became confused and left himself open to attack. The attacker took advantage of this and pierced his shoulder, then tore the sword from the wound and, with a spin, cut Spear in half. Both parts of the poor fellow fell to the floor, soaking it in blood. The killer kicked the corpse, then leaned over and slapped a booklet on the bloody face with an invitation to a party in honor of Internet Day.
Sniffling began to haunt Morning. Even ten laps through the corridors did not save him—the unknown continued to follow close on his heels. Then Morning bolted, ran forward, darted sharply into the first room he found, and leaned against the door. As expected, the pursuer did not stop but ran past.
However, someone immediately pulled Morning by the shoulders and forced him to fall into slime. Morning floundered for a bit, then smiled and left the room with a cheerful gait.
Nayra was strolling past the conveyor belt where stamps are applied to synthetic-brain packaging. But suddenly, as if against her will, she turned around and walked in the opposite direction.
Deciding to rest, Amko settled on a sofa in the lounge. He had almost reached the climax of his dream about ponies, but suddenly pain seared his arm. Amko opened his eyes and looked around. Beside himself, he found an empty syringe.
Kalipso, after walking for a couple of minutes, returned to the main hall and leaned her shoulder against the wall. She was very upset by the current situation, so, giving in to a pessimistic mood, she didn't think much about her own safety. And for good reason. For at that moment, a laser sight dot appeared on her back. The mark slowly rose between Kalipso's shoulder blades, up her neck, and stopped, reaching the back of her head. In the next second, several events occurred at once. A gunshot rang out, a shocked Kalipso flinched, and behind her, as if jumping from the ceiling, a figure in a strange suit suddenly appeared. In the blink of an eye, the stranger somehow constructed a shield from something resembling a web. But the round turned out to be armor-piercing. The bullet pierced the barrier and hit the defender in the forehead. He died instantly. Kalipso turned around and fell to the floor in horror, but this was unnecessary. The killer, annoyed by the mistake, quickly vanished. As it turned out later, the sniper had left a booklet titled "Code of the Ideal Warrior" in his hideout, and a footprint with a strange cross was found in a dusty corner.
In the savior's pocket, a passport in the name of Kits Kitsunka was found.
