Could you please tell me if these squares are normal? When I enter a town, there's a black screen and a spinning cursor, like when loading, but then this "chessboard" appears. I understand that something else should be in its place (an image of the buildings in the town, presumably). How can I fix this problem?

As you can see, the image of the Haven Castle should be in the upper left corner. The chessboard is definitely a bug. There are two possible solutions: either there's an issue with your video card, or it's a glitch in the game. However, I've never seen this before, so it's something new. Try installing patches up to version 1.1.1 if you haven't already.
