Unfortunately, I'm more inclined towards symphonic metal; death metal doesn't evoke emotions in me. Regarding growling, I'm not sure yet, unless the voice is also processed through a pitch shifter and chorus, then it will sound cool.

You often wrote here that you were "currently listening" to some death metal, and even encouraged me when I posted some death metal, even increasing my BD score.
Also, growling can be used in symphonic music, so go for it.
