Issue #1: THE HERO AS A KEY GAME CHARACTER

Hello, dear subscribers!

Today, we will talk about the key game character – the Hero. There is no need to explain who he is. But what functions should he perform in the game? My suggestion: in addition to warrior heroes, introduce hero-clerics. The new CLERIC class allows you to learn economic skills. Such heroes will be valuable not for their fighting ability, but for their ability to manage the economy more effectively. This hero sits in some castle building and increases its efficiency. I will immediately note that you can place a hero in almost any building. If he has the appropriate skill, he works; if not, he rests.

Some examples of "civilian" specializations:

INSTRUCTOR - increases the growth of monsters
PRIEST - increases the effectiveness of sacrifices to the gods
BARD - attracts more heroes to your tavern
BUILDER - builds faster and cheaper
ECONOMIST - brings additional profit to your kingdom
BLACKSMITH - produces increasingly valuable items in the forge
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

It doesn't make sense to try to list everything now. We will return to this later. For now, let's try to build a model for their development. Warrior heroes gain experience in battles and when visiting special locations on the map. Such a luxury is not available to hero-clerics. You can take him into battle, but it is highly doubtful that he will kill anyone, since he has almost no combat skills. But there is a great risk that he himself will become "cannon fodder." Therefore, I suggest linking experience gain to his activity. If he works in his specialty, he receives +100 EXP per day. Is that a lot or a little? I think it's just right. In 10 days, he will reach level 2, in 21 - level 3, and so on. You can run to the neighboring house, if he is brave, and immediately get 1000 EXP. Heroes are heroes everywhere! Especially when it comes to getting something for free. After leveling up, the hero-cleric demonstrates his abilities with greater effect. Accordingly, he should receive more experience for this: +200, +300, ... - depending on the skill level. A hero can also be versatile - he works as an instructor all week, and when it is really needed, he becomes a blacksmith. Or a builder! By transferring a hero to another building, you change the return from his activity - because different skills are developed to different degrees.

Now imagine that the city is under attack. You need to do something. You bought troops for the garrison, but the heroes are only clerics. What to do, send a talented administrator to his death? No way, let him do his job, since he is not fit for military service (we would like it that way)! Unfortunately, the castle was captured, and all the heroes are taken prisoner. But the enemy is cunning - he forces them to work for him. And you are furious about such betrayal and recapture the castle. And everyone who was in it goes over to your side. Wouldn't you take them back under your care?

This is what the picture looks like. There is, however, one unpleasant thing: before the capture, the player can fire all the heroes. It is especially unpleasant if the computer does this. As a countermeasure, you can move everyone to another castle or provide for the "registration" of a hero in the castle with the right to be fired only after a week. And in a week, everything can be fixed, including canceling the dismissal!
