Because humans didn't evolve from monkeys; humans and monkeys share a common ancestor, from which ancestral forms of humans and monkeys later evolved. And then they evolved along their own lines. In general, the evolution of a single organism takes thousands or millions of years. It's not like I want it to change, and here's a new species.
