Heroes 6 - Discussion

I finally downloaded Conflux. Now, in the multiplayer game, I only have one hero, and he's a Barbarian! We usually play with my wife on the same computer, and she also gets the same Barbarian! Is that how it's supposed to be? When will the other factions become available? I, for example, don't want to play as the Stronghold today...
